Plain-language summary: PinPoint is a simple daily word game. We don't create accounts, we don't collect your name or email, and we don't sell your data. Ads are shown by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising ID to personalise them. You can pay once to remove all ads entirely.
PinPoint is developed and operated by PuzzleVerse. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to PuzzleVerse as the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the app.
If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, please use the contact details at the bottom of this page.
PuzzleVerse itself does not require you to create an account, provide a name, or supply an email address. The table below describes what is collected and by whom.
| Data | Collected by | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Game progress & preferences | PuzzleVerse (stored locally on your device only) | To save your streak, theme choice, and daily puzzle state between sessions |
| Advertising ID & device signals | Google AdMob (if you have not purchased "Remove Ads") | To serve and personalise ads |
| Purchase receipt token | Google Play Billing | To verify your "Remove Ads" purchase |
| Crash & diagnostic data | Google Play (Android vitals — automatic) | To detect app stability issues |
We do not collect location data, contact information, photos, health data, financial information, or any other sensitive personal data.
Data stored locally on your device (game state, streak, theme) is used solely to make the app function correctly across sessions. It never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Data collected by third-party services (see sections 4 and 7) is governed by their own privacy policies. We do not receive, store, or have access to the advertising or diagnostic data those services collect.
PuzzleVerse uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data including your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID), approximate location derived from IP address, and app interaction signals to serve personalised ads.
Two types of ads are shown:
You can permanently remove all ads by purchasing "Remove Ads" within the app. Once purchased, no AdMob code is invoked and no advertising data is collected by AdMob from that point forward.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you will be shown a consent prompt before personalised ads are served, as required by GDPR. You may withdraw consent at any time through your device settings.
To opt out of personalised ads on Android, go to Settings → Privacy → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation. You can also reset your Advertising ID from the same screen.
Google's privacy policy for advertising is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
PuzzleVerse offers a single one-time in-app purchase: "Remove Ads". This purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details — these remain with Google.
Upon a successful purchase, a receipt token is verified through Google Play to confirm entitlement. This token is not stored on our servers. The "Remove Ads" status is stored locally on your device.
If you reinstall the app or switch devices, your purchase will be automatically restored when you launch PuzzleVerse, provided you are signed in to the same Google account used for the original purchase.
All game data (streak, puzzle state, preferences, purchase status) is stored in your device's local storage. We operate no servers and have no database of user records. This data persists until you clear app data or uninstall PuzzleVerse.
Because we hold no user data ourselves, there is nothing for us to delete on request — clearing app data on your device removes all locally stored information immediately and permanently.
PuzzleVerse integrates the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
| Service | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Advertising | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Play Billing | In-app purchases | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Play (Android Vitals) | Crash reporting | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Fonts | App typography (web version only) | policies.google.com/privacy |
PuzzleVerse is a general-audience app rated for all ages on Google Play. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA).
Because the app uses personalised advertising via AdMob, it is not directed specifically at children. Parents or guardians who believe their child has been exposed to data collection through this app should contact us at the address below, and we will take appropriate steps.
If you are a parent and wish to disable personalised advertising for your child's device, use the Family Link controls available in your Google account, or enable the "Opt out of Ads Personalisation" setting on the device.
Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
As we hold no server-side user data, most of these rights can be exercised directly by clearing your app data on your device. For requests relating to data held by Google (AdMob or Play), please contact Google directly using the links in section 7.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the processing of your personal data by Google AdMob (when you have not purchased "Remove Ads") is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR respectively.
The legal basis for processing your advertising identifier for personalised ads is consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You will be presented with a consent prompt on first launch via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). You may withdraw consent at any time through your device's ad settings or by contacting us.
If you have a complaint about how your data is handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. A list of EEA authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu. UK residents may contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
As an Australian-based developer, we are subject to the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). In practice, because all game data is stored locally on your device and we operate no servers, our direct collection of personal information is minimal.
Data collected by Google AdMob and Google Play may be processed on servers outside Australia. Google maintains appropriate safeguards for cross-border data transfers, as described in their privacy policy.
If you believe your privacy has been interfered with, you may make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au. We ask that you contact us first so we can attempt to resolve your concern directly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes (such as introducing new data collection or new third-party services) will be communicated via an in-app notice.
Continued use of PuzzleVerse after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
If you have any questions, requests, or complaints about this Privacy Policy or the way PuzzleVerse handles your data, please contact us:
